Lewtrenchard Manor

Our first day's destination, and home for three nights. They were prepared to greet us, but no one checked the chairlift. Thus, my mom never saw the room on the second floor which was the whole reason this locale was picked. In fact, you can't see it either, because it is obscured in this picture by the bushes on the right. Despite the inauspicious beginning, we enjoyed the stay.

The courtyard into which my mom's room looked.

We were seated in the library for dinner the first night. The ambitious meal had its moments.

The view from the manor house and the inaccessible St. Gertrude's suite

The picturesque church near the entrance to Lewtrenchard Manor. There is some good wordcarving inside, and a nice organ, but the photos turned out blurred. Planning approval has been obtained for a car park to the right of the church, just beyond the hedge in the right foreground. An addition is to be built on the side opposite this view as well. According to the parish register at the entrance, there are 40 adult members in the congregation.

Ok, how many of the books are duplicates of those in RWR's library back home?

You ate dinner in a library? That seems illegal.

Or something.
